AirAsia India and Air India Express have introduced a new service called Unaccompanied Minor (UMNR), which is specifically designed for young travellers aged between five (5) and twelve (12) years. This service is all about making travel safe and secure for these young adventurers. It's available for both domestic and international flights on all direct routes. Air India Express & AirAsia’s New Unaccompanied Minor Service

Earlier, this service was only available for international flights, but now it's extended to domestic flights too. This will give parents and guardians peace of mind, knowing that their children will receive special care while travelling. To book the Unaccompanied Minor service, you can visit the airlines’ official websites or visit airport sales counters. The service starts at a price of Rs 5,000, as mentioned in the company's release.

How Will This Unaccompanied Minor Service Work?

The Unaccompanied Minor service is designed to make travel safe and easy for young travellers. Here's how it works:

• When you arrive at the airport, the airline's staff will personally welcome the young traveller before they go through security checks.
• The airline staff will help with all the required airport procedures.
• Both the child and the parent or guardian need to have a valid photo identification document for verification when departing and arriving
• The parent or guardian needs to be with the child at the airport at least 2 hours before the flight's scheduled departure for domestic flights
• When the flight arrives at the destination, the airline staff will be there to assist the child until they are safely reunited with their parent or guardian.
• Moreover, kids travelling on the airline can have fun with Airflix, the in-flight entertainment system. Airflix has various options like games, educational stuff, articles, and more, specially designed to keep young travellers entertained and occupied during their journey.
